Duke of Edinburgh Disability Games

The Yorkshire & Humber Region of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award staged its fourth Disability Games at The English Institute of Sport, Sheffield on Tuesday 15th June 2010.

More than 200 students, aged between 14 and 19, with varying disabilities competed in teams of eight at the event. Young people took part in a range of different sports including athletics, archery, golf, basketball, goal ball, adapted cycling and boccia. During the course of the day the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Cllr Alan Law took a tour of the activities and experienced several of the activities first hand.

Louise Morgan, Caroline Jepson, Gary Walker, Kerry Sutton and Stacy Gee helped with the Archery and Cycling Activities.

Caroline Jepson said, “It was a great day and a brilliant experience helping so many young people participate in such a wide range of activities.”
