How do I find the right solicitor?

When it comes to choosing a solicitor, it’s important that you choose someone who has experience in medical accidents. Very few solicitors specialise in this area so it is crucial that you find one that really knows what they’re doing and can understand exactly what you want.

There are a number of questions you can ask which will help you find out more about your potential solicitor: 

• How many medical accident cases have they handled? 
• How many of these have been successful? 
• Have they ever handled a clinical complaint or a complaint to the General Medical Council?
• Are they a member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Panel or the AvMA panel?

Their answers should indicate whether or not they are an expert in this field.
