Is it going to cost me anything?
If you’re worried about legal costs then don’t be. Your initial consultation is completely FREE, during which we’ll work with you to assess whether your claim is worth pursuing. If you do decide to go ahead, we’ll advise you on the best way to fund your claim.
Options for you to consider:
Public Funding (formerly known as Legal Aid)
Medical accident claims can still be supported by Public Funding. An assessment of your case will need to take place by the Legal Services Commission for them to decide if you are eligible for Public Funding. Only those law firms which have been approved by the Legal Services Commission and have been awarded a Clinical Negligence Franchise can request Public Funding for their clients who have suffered as a result of a medical accident.
At patientlawyers.com, in association with Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, all our UK offices have a Clinical Negligence Franchise from the Legal Services Commission.
Legal expenses insurance
We will check if you have any insurance policies that will cover your legal costs.
Trade Union legal assistance
Your legal costs may be covered if you are a member of a Trade Union.
Conditional Fees (No Win No Fee)
A conditional fee agreement may be available after preliminary investigations into your claim have been completed.
If this sounds confusing, don’t worry, we’ll go through all the options with you and help you work out which one will be the best for you and your situation.
