Suzanne Munroe

Location: Sheffield

Suzanne is a birth injury specialist with over 20 years experience as a claimant clinical negligence lawyer, representing both mother and child injured at birth. She also specialises in fatal claims, acting for families at inquest and in recent years has represented a number of parents whose babies have died at birth or when they were only a few days old.

Association of Personal Injury Lawyers - senior litigator

Suzanne feels very strongly that all families should be represented at inquest. She is a member of the INQUEST Lawyers Group which promotes and advances the work of INQUEST, which provides a specialist and independent service to families, lawyers, support agencies, the media etc on all aspects of the inquest system.

One particular area of expertise relates to mothers who have suffered 3rd degree tears as a result of giving birth. Suzanne has recently settled two claims for women injured in this way and acts for several others. This is often an unreported but very significant injury and women suffer in silence.

She also acts for a significant number of children who have cerebral palsy. She has settled two cases in the last two years, one in excess of £5 million and the other in excess of £3million. She has also obtained more than £1million interim payment for a little girl with Cerebral Palsy, a case where the Defendants admitted liability by the time she was 2 years old.

Suzanne has 4 children (and a very understanding husband!). She loves running, swimming, spinning and cycling and took part in the Great North Run in 2008 dressed as a fairy godmother to raise money for Cash for Kids.
