I would like to thank you for the resulting letter of apology from the health trust. However small those results may seem I have taken great comfort in drawing closure over a part of my life I can now put to rest.

Sarah Rowland is an Associate Solicitor working in both the Sheffield office and the Leicester consulting office, having worked in London for 10 years before moving back to her northern roots in 2004.

Sarah has experience of many different types of case including birth injury, amputations and fatal injures. She feels very strongly about the care given to elderly patients and acts in many cases which challenge these standards.

Sarah is involved in campaigning to raise awareness about elderly care issues and is a member of the charity Action on Elder Abuse. She also specialises in cases of hospital infection, such as MRSA and clostridium difficile.

Sarah recently co-authored a paper on Improving Patients' Safety in the NHS.

Sarah was a volunteer adviser at Bermondsey Citizen Advice Bureau for many years when she lived in London. In her spare time, she loves fell-walking in Derbyshire and the Lake District and enjoys travel, particularly to Asia.
