Delyth is an associate solicitor with a wide range of legal experience. She has dealt particularly with psychiatric cases, but has also represented families as they fight for vCJD compensation or compensation following a birth injury.
One such case was a 19 year old man, left catastrophically brain damaged because his blood sugars were not tested when he was a baby. His extraordinary mother, who had already looked after her son with limited help for almost twenty years, fought so that her son would get the proper care he was entitled to. The case, which was settled at the door of the court, was an emotional one for all those involved, and was probably one of the most memorable cases of Delyth’s career. Had the settlement been paid as a lump sum it would be the equivalent of £8.2 million.
In the 1990s Delyth helped win the Human Growth Hormone/CJD litigation and went on to represent families at the BSE inquiry. Sadly we still see cases of Human Growth Hormone related CJD and Delyth has recently settled claims in this area.
In her spare time you...
- will never see her supporting the England rugby team (due to her Welsh roots!)
- might see her dancing the Charleston
- could see her rocking to Led Zeppelin, fellow Midlanders and the greatest rock band ever!
