Sally is a Solicitor in the London office who has worked in Personal Injury since 2005 and now specialises in Clinical Negligence claims. She has a varied caseload but has a special interest in birth injury cases, fatal claims and cases involving a delay in diagnosis of cancer.
Sally has experience of the litigation system from investigation through to trial. She is currently working on a number of cases involving injuries of the utmost severity such as a premature baby who became blind and has other disabilities following a hospital’s failure to monitor her oxygen levels and a toddler who now has a severely disabled leg and foot following a blockage in her leg’s femoral artery that was caused by her treatment at hospital and which could have been avoided.
Sally has been involved in settling a very complex case where there was lack of informed consent prior to drastic surgery being carried out, resulting in the patient having a permanent colostomy.
She has settled a range of clinical negligence claims including:
- £80,000 for a young teenager whose fallopian tube was removed by a surgeon who mistook it for her appendix
- £30,000 for a delay in diagnosis of bowel cancer for a lady whose cancer had unfortunately already spread. The claim settled at an early stage before the Court became involved and the hospital has made an unreserved apology for the delay
- £15,000 for a family whose elderly father died following a missed diagnosis of internal bleeding that ultimately led to his death
Sally grew up on the Welsh border and studied at LSE and BPP Law School in London. During her legal training she gained considerable experience in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence, most notably representing families at inquests often following a death in custody.
When Sally is not at work she enjoys playing 5 a side football and has been trying to learn how to surf.
