Louise Forsyth is an Associate Solicitor in the London office and joined Irwin Mitchell in 2006 following the merger with Alexander Harris. She has specialised in Clinical Negligence claims on behalf of patients since qualifying in 1999.
Louise has a varied caseload but has a particular interest in Fatal Accident claims and Inquests. She has settled a wide range of claims including a claim on behalf of a client whose young wife died after giving birth to their first child at Northwick Park Hospital, a hospital which came under fire for its substandard maternity services. She has also obtained compensation for a mother whose baby died because midwives did not recognise the baby was in distress.
For a number of years Louise has been involved in the Leicester Epilepsy litigation, representing over 30 children who were misdiagnosed with epilepsy or prescribed inappropriate anti-epileptic medication.
Louise also deals with claims on behalf of children with Erb's Palsy.
In addition to handling claims, Louise is responsible for arranging a training programme for colleagues and she also delivers training herself, including to external groups. She has links with charities including Cruse Bereavement and is a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. Louise was recommended in the 2010 Legal 500, an international guide on legal service providers.
When she isn't working Louise is very slowly learning to play the guitar.
