Brainwave - Brainwave helps children, between the ages of 6 months to 12 years, who have a brain injury, genetic condition or Developmental Delay. The Brainwave Programme aims to develop the maximum potential of each child. In taking an integrated approach to a child's physical and cognitive development, Brainwave also aims to enhance a child's social skills and emotional well-being.

Canine Partners - Irwin Mitchell has its own charitable foundation “101 Donations” and have appointed Canine Partners as their Charity of the Year for 2010.  Throughout 2010, the staff in the London office will be organising fundraising events to raise funds, such as ‘dress down days’, cake sales, quiz evenings and much more.

Canine Partners aim to assist people with disabilities to enjoy greater independence and a better quality of life and, where possible, to help them into education and employment, through the provision of specially trained dogs.

The ‘Canine Partners’ have a variety of different conditions, some of which have been experienced since birth and others that have been acquired during their lifetime. The charity focuses on their matching process to ensure that the right dog is placed with the right Canine Partner.  You can sponsor a puppy, or become a ‘puppy parent’ to help train the before a suitable match is found.  On 26 February 2010 the London office enjoyed a demonstration from one of their assistance dogs to demonstrate the work they do.

Meningitis Trust - The Meningitis Trust offers practical, emotional and financial support to everyone in the UK who is facing the challenge of life after meningitis. The Trust arranges ‘awareness days’ and aims to education communities about the symptoms of meningitis, saving lives through early detection.  The Trust also offers ‘family days’ to offer a fun day out for children, their parents and siblings.  The parents have an opportunity to meet with other families whose lives have been affected by this disease.

Breast Cancer Care - Breast Cancer Care is there for anyone affected by breast cancer. They bring people together, provide information and support, and campaign for improved standards of care. Our helpline is staffed by experienced nurses and specially trained helpline workers with a personal experience of breast cancer, providing information and emotional support.

Headway - Headway aims to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide support and services to people with a brain injury.  Headway assists people with brain injuries to return to community living, including access to appropriate accommodation, social outlets and productive activity.  Headway produce invaluable information to families, via their website, publications and the local community groups nationwide, and campaign for measures that will reduce the number of brain injuries.

Cauda Equina Syndrome Support Group - The Cauda Equina Syndrome Support Group was started in November 1999, as a place for people with Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) to meet and share information about this condition.  The CESSG is a grass roots organisation dedicated to providing information, support and increasing awareness of this rare but devastating spinal cord injury.  It is a medical emergency and requires urgent diagnosis and treatment if the symptoms are to be reversed.

The Children's Trust, Tadworth - The Children’s Trust is a national charity working with children who have multiple disabilities and complex health needs. They are based at a 24 acre site in Tadworth, Surrey, but offer services to children from across the UK.  Some of the services comprise of residential care and therapy, community-based rehabilitation, palliative care and special education. 

Changing Faces - Changing Faces is a UK charity that supports and represents people who have disfigurements of the face or body from any cause. The charity was founded in 1992 by James Partridge OBE who was injured in a car fire when he was 18 years old. The charity has a team of 25 professionals with expertise in psychology, education, employment, health and social care, media and campaigning.

Homerton Hospital Charitable Fund "Homerton Hope" - The charity sources funding for additional project, training and equipment needs that complement, not replace, core services provided by the NHS to make life as a patient or a carer at Homerton Hospital for comfortable.

Cruse Bereavement Care - Cruse exists to promote the wellbeing of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss.  The charity provides support and offers information, advice, education and training services.  Cruse have 135 branches across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man.
