Anita is an Associate Solicitor who specialises solely in clinical negligence claims at the London office of Irwin Mitchell.

Anita has successfully handled a wide variety of cases and fights hard to secure the best possible outcome for her clients. She trained with Irwin Mitchell and qualified as a solicitor in March 2008.  Anita was promoted to the position of Associate in November 2011.

Anita has particular expertise in spinal injuries, such as the delayed diagnosis of Spinal Tuberculosis and Cauda Equina Syndrome. She has considerable experience in mental health law and in representing bereaved families at Inquests.

Recent career highlights include:

  • Recovering £6 million for a child who suffered from cerebral palsy as a result of the hospital’s failure to carry out an earlier caesarean section.
  • Recovering £6.6 million for a child who suffered almost total visual loss and learning difficulties as a result of the delayed diagnosis of neonatal hypoglycaemia.
  • Recovering compensation and securing future care for a client who was left in a permanent vegetative state having attempted suicide when he should have been under constant observation whilst at a mental health unit.
  • Securing an admission of liability for a family whose father died as a result of the delayed diagnosis of infected pressure sores.
  • Securing an admission of liability for a family whose baby died as a result of the hospital’s failure to expedite his delivery.
  • Recovering six-figure settlements for clients who have been left with permanent neurological and urological injuries as a result of the delay in diagnosing Cauda Equina Syndrome.

Anita has been involved in high profile cases, such as Natallie Evans v United Kingdom which was only a handful of cases to progress to the Grand Chamber at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. She delivers external training, and is accredited as a Senior Litigator of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

Dedicated to promoting access to justice, Anita is involved in the firm's pro-bono and charity work and volunteers at the Citizens Advice Bureau.

When she is not working, Anita enjoys travelling and socialising with friends and family.
