I would like to thank you for the resulting letter of apology from the health trust. However small those results may seem I have taken great comfort in drawing closure over a part of my life I can now put to rest.

Emma Rush

Location: Birmingham

Emma is a solicitor in the Medical Law and Patients' Rights team in Birmingham and has worked for Irwin Mitchell since 2007.

Emma grew up in the Midlands and studied Law at the University of Birmingham. Emma acts exclusively for Claimants in clinical negligence cases.

Emma runs her own varied caseload which includes cases resulting in amputation, delays in diagnosis of cancer and cases leading to infertility. She has a particular interest in obstetric cases and has helped to achieve extensive settlements for children who require life long care as a result of injuries at birth. Emma takes great satisfaction from being able to assist families in such situations, where the provision of damages allows necessary adaptations to be made to a child's home and allows essential equipment to be purchased to help a child communicate and develop a better quality of life.

Before Emma joined the Medical Law and Patients' Rights team she worked with the Personal Injury team in Manchester and has experience of dealing with high value and complex head injury cases.

Three interesting facts about Emma:

  • She loves music and goes to open air music festivals every year, preferably in Europe so she can simultaneously enjoy some sunshine
  • She is very good at DIY and has tiled her kitchen herself, although she is yet to master cooking in it
  • Emma's passion outside of work is shoes and she enjoys adding to her ever growing collection as often as possible
